Filming Options
With our historic building and beautiful gardens, it’s no surprise that Ordsall Hall has appeared on screen for a range of television programmes.
The hall has featured in everything from dramas to documentaries, we’ve even hosted Most Haunted!
Ordsall Hall has also acted as a backdrop in numerous photography shoots from fashion to weddings and educational to historical shoots. With a variety of impressive backdrops both internally and externally it’s the perfect choice whatever your photography focus is.
- Pricing starts from £3000 for full day hire Friday/Saturday, and from £6000 full day through the week if venue closure is required.
We want to encourage and support student filming where possible and we allow students to film at the hall on Fridays by arrangement dependent on the nature of the request. Requests must be received in writing and will be considered on a case-by-case basis and availability.
Student filming must be organised in advance and a booking form completed. There is a hire fee of £250 from 9.30am-12.30pm (half day) on a Friday.
- We receive many requests for filming from production companies and look at each of these on a case-by-case basis. Film crews and photographers must have Public Liability Insurance, and we require a minimum of 28 days’ notice to organise location shoots.
- As a Grade 1 listed building we have a number of conditions for filming on site including copy of PLI certificate (minimum £5m), full list of equipment coming on site, number of crew/staff attending the shoot, signed copy of conditions and site rule.
- Due to copyright and loan agreements we do not allow filming or photography shoots in the museum without the express written permission of the venue.

Weddings & Civil Ceremonies
The historic Ordsall Hall is licensed to host civil weddings on Fridays and Saturdays throughout the year.
The celebrated charm and traditional style of this impressive venue provides the perfect ‘exclusive’ location for an intimate celebration. Say your vows in the glorious surroundings of the 500 year old timber framed Great Hall under the stunning Victorian chandelier.
The gorgeous Tudor exterior, magnificent interior and beautiful gardens provide stunning backdrops for endless photography to capture your special day.
Wedding packages start from £3,000 for a ceremony for up to 88 guests for up to 3 hours hire. Drinks packages start from £8 per head for a glass of Prosecco. We operate a cash bar throughout the duration of the hire offering guests the opportunity to purchase a selection of beverages. Canape receptions are provided by a local supplier, and prices start from £12.50 per head dependent on numbers and quantities.
